What is a Bone?
Bones are a common drop in Minecraft primarily used to tame wolves and create bone meal. As a renewable item, they play a crucial role in farming, dye crafting, and early-game survival. Despite their simplicity, bones are one of the most useful mob drops in the game.
How to Obtain
Bones are mainly dropped by Skeletons and Wither Skeletons. They can also be found in loot chests in structures like desert temples and dungeons. Fishing with a Luck of the Sea rod may also yield bones as junk. In Bedrock Edition, killing fish mobs has a chance to drop bones too.
Uses and Features
Bones are most often used to tame wolves, requiring 1–3 bones per wolf. They can be crafted into bone meal, which is vital for growing crops and trees quickly. Bone meal is also used as a white dye and in composting. Additionally, bones can be used to breed wolves and make suspicious stew with regeneration.
